Behind the Scenes of Emily's

Corelie de Villiers,
final year student at CAIA
Peter and Franz Keller from Germany,
in our kitchen.
He spend two weeks with us during 2008,
getting an infusion of South Africanisms.
Many moons ago this one.
Johan helping with the food photography for Peter's book,
Flavours of South Africa.
Johan, still young!
A press photo from the archives.
The circus is in town!
See no evil, hear no evil . . .
When we started in the Waterfront.
Our dining area is a mere shell.
And the raw kitchen before anything was ever cooked.
Some more of the kitchen.
And Lover's Lane.
Cement and grey - today painted in Russian Velvet.
Emily still in her old outfit.

June 2007 - we have decided to give our girl a face-lift.

The staff jumped in and 10 days later
the restaurant was wearing colours
reminiscent of our Woodstock days!
Nick busy with the new outfit. . .
Some trimmings
under construction
Andrew and the walls,
Fire engine, no floor!
And some Russian Velvet
into Lover's Lane.

I think this was coat number two,
little did we know we still needed another three!
Some dudes flooring us
Louis and Cindy
applying some energy
Measuring, measuring,
bordering on insanity
All done!
Ready to rock!
Louis,
or Confucius?
So many flavours, so little time . . .
Some boys like to play with fire
Be careful of them BURNS
Miriam,
she is no more part of the furniture.
With endearment:
she has become a prized antique
in our establishment.
Yes, some boys do play with fire!
Conrad,
instituted entertainment
